The Letters of T. S. Eliot: Volume 5: 1930-1931

This fifth volume of the collected letters of poet, playwright, essayist, and literary critic Thomas Stearns Eliot covers the years 1930 through 1931. It was during this period that the acclaimed American-born writer earnestly embraced his newly avowed Anglo-Catholic faith, a decision that earned him the antagonism of friends like Virginia Woolf and Herbert Read. Also evidenced in these correspondences is Eliot’s growing estrangement from his wife Vivien, with the writer’s newfound dedication to the Anglican Church exacerbating the unhappiness of an already tormented union.

Wisdom Of The Masters by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

Wisdom Of The Masters by Dr. Wayne W. DyerContinuing with his life's work of helping people discover their destinies--the author takes the indirect route here by sharing the writings of leaders who have influenced him. Like Dyer, his role models reached ahead of their times to make a difference and lived lives that unfolded "independent of the good opinion of others." One of the most informed spiritual teachers of our time, Dyer reads unobtrusively and with great reverence for these works. As a collection, they are powerful medicine for the estrangement that pervades so much of Western life.

Beyond Belief - Finding the Strength to Come BackBeyond Belief - Finding the Strength to Come Back

Josh Hamilton was the first player chosen in the first round of the 1999 baseball draft. He was known not only for his gargantuan homeruns, his speed on the bases and his fielding talent but also for his caring and humble character. He was destined to be one of those rare "high-character " superstars. But in 2001, working his way from the minors to the majors, all of the plans for Josh went off the rails in a moment of weakness. What followed was a 4-year nightmare of drugs and alcohol, estrangement from friends and family, and his eventual suspension from baseball. BEYOND BELIEF details the events that led up to the derailment.
