An Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics: The Finite Volume Method Approach
Вычислительная гидродинамика (CFD) является одной из ветвей механики жидкости, которая использует численные методы и алгоритмы для решения и анализа проблем, связанных с потоками жидкости. This book presents some of the fundamentals of computational fluid dynamics for the novice. It provides a thorough yet user-friendly introduction to the governing equations and boundary conditions of viscous fluid flows, turbulence and its modelling and the finite volume method of solving flow patters on a computer.
BSCS Biology: A Molecular Approach (2006) is a comprehensive, inquiry-based approach to biology. It challenges gifted and honor students to think scientifically, to integrate concepts, to analyze data, and to explore complex issues. This research-based program, developed with funding from the National Science Foundation, supports an inquiry approach to biology. It provides students with the background information needed to ask their own research questions and to conduct their own investigations.
Reading age for native speakers: High School students
Advanced Grammar & Vocabulary is a comprehensive Use of English manual for students preparing for the Cambridge CAE and Proficiency in English or any other EFL examination at a similar level. It combines clear and functional presentation of grammar and vocabulary issues with a huge variety of challenging and stimulating exercises.
Dee Fink poses a fundamental question for all teachers: "How can I create courses that will provide significant learning experiences for my students?" In the process of addressing this question, he urges teachers to shift from a content-centered approach to a learning-centered approach that asks "What kinds of learning will be significant for students, and how can I create a course that will result in that kind of learning?"
This book provides a wonderful and comprehensive introduction to genetics. I'm not a biology major, but I found that this book is both entertaining and informative. The author describes a wide panoramic view on the genetics, and yet addresses the fundamental concepts in genetics in very clear manner. DNA structure, replication, transcription to RNA, RNA processing, and RNA translation All chapters start with VERY compelling REAL-WORLD cases that tantalizes you on learning the subject presented in the chapter. That makes me wanting to read for more. The writing is concise and clear. The author clearly knows his stuff. Overall, it is a great intro book. Great for both self-learners and in-class students. Definitely a must buy for those who want to get acquainted in genetics.
