Modern Multidimensional Scaling: Theory and ApplicationsModern Multidimensional Scaling: Theory and Applications

The book provides a comprehensive treatment of multidimensional scaling (MDS), a family of statistical techniques for analyzing the structure of (dis)similarity data. Such data are widespread, including, for example, intercorrelations of survey items, direct ratings on the similarity on choice objects, or trade indices for a set of countries.

This book is the English translation of the textbook Numerische Mathematik, a highly successful European text on numerical analysis. It covers the usual classical topics of numerical analysis and also includes recent developments such as an up-to-date treatment of splines, linear optimization methods, and multidimensional numerical analysis. The text is desiged to be used in a first course in numerical analysis at the advanced undergraduate level or at the beginning graduate level.

Unit OrigamiTOMOKO FUSE is recognized at home and abroad as one of the most original and exciting of all up-and-coming origami talents. In this book, she explains her method for combining folded-paper units in an insertion fashion that results in an endless sequence of multidimensional variations giving new life and freshness to old-fashioned origami classics. Another dynamic departure is the way she employs a single origami work as an axis around which to assemble various other multidimensional parts.

Course of linear algebra and multidimensional geometry
Ruslan Sharipov
This is a standard textbook for the course of linear algebra and multidimensional geometry as it was taught in 1991-1998 at Mathematical Department of Bashkir State University. Both coordinate and invariant approaches are used, but invariant approach is preferred. This book is written as a textbook for the course of multidimensional geometry and linear algebra. At Mathematical Department of Bashkir State University this course is taught to the first year students in the Spring semester. It is a part of the basic mathematical education. Therefore, this course is taught at Physical and Mathematical Departments in all Universities of Russia.
