English learner's library: Fairy-Tales and Stories

The textbook, designed to develop reading skills in English, includes prose works by the famous English writer O. Wilde (1854-1900): fairy tales "The Remarkable Rocket", "The Young King" and "The Star-Child", as well as the story "The Model Millionaire" and "The Sphinx without a Secret" with some abbreviations of the original texts. To reinforce the impression of antiquity in the tales "The Young King" and "Star-Child", the author uses a number of outdated and poetic forms of pronouns and verbs, which are explained in the glossary. The texts of the manual are accompanied by page-by-page commentary, exercises to control reading comprehension and a dictionary.
