Well, not really updated, since Aesop’s originals are timeless, and as relevant today as they were centuries ago. The Fox continues to see the grapes as sour when he can’t reach them, and no doubt he always will.
This is a very colorful graphic reprint of the Classic Fable by Aesop and Walter Crane as the famous illustrator. Aesop's Fables or Aesopica refers to a collection of fables credited to Aesop, a slave and story-teller who lived in ancient Greece between 620 and 560 BCE. His fables are some of the most well known in the world. The fables remain a popular choice for moral education of children today. Many stories included in Aesop's Fables, such as The Fox and the Grapes (from which the idiom "sour grapes" derives), The Tortoise and the Hare, The North Wind and the Sun, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and The Ant and the Grasshopper are well-known throughout the world.
This story, set in Ancient Greece, tells of how a father finds a clever way to teach his sons the value of working together instead of fighting with each other.
Aesop, or Æsop, known only for his fables, was by tradition a slave of African descent who lived from about 620 to 560 BC in Ancient Greece. Aesop's Fables are still taught as moral lessons and used as subjects for various entertainments, especially children's plays and cartoons.
