The Minimalist Program: The Nature and Plausibility of Chomsky's Biolinguistics

The development of the Minimalist Program (MP), Noam Chomsky's most recent generative model of linguistics, has been highly influential over the last twenty years. It has had significant implications not only for the conduct of linguistic analysis itself, but also for our understanding of the status of linguistics as a science.

Control in Grammar and Pragmatics: A cross-linguistic study

Control in Grammar and Pragmatics: A cross-linguistic studyThe claim that “…pronominals have phonological features only where they must, for some reason”, is strongly supported by the occurrence of the null pronoun PRO as coined and introduced by Noam Chomsky. How reference of PRO is determined is the main subject of control theory, the subsystem of core grammar to which this study is dedicated. Chomsky has not followed up his “natural suggestion that choice of controller is determined by theta roles or other semantic properties of the verb, perhaps pragmatic conditions of some sort.”

Noam Chomsky - Class War - Audiobook
This speech was recorded live at MIT back in 1995. I had to put this recording aside for a few years because it made me so angry to listen to it. I wasn't mad at Chomsky or his views- I was mad at the infuriating truths that he reveals and documents. Having spent most of my life in industry on either the shop floor or the engineering office I knew that I was hearing truth. Having also put in my time in grad school I had little trust or like for academics, but Prof. Chomsky is the exception that proves the rule.

Reuploaded Thanks to Eugenius

Chomsky For BeginnersChomsky For Beginners

Noam Chomsky has written over 30 books, he is the most-quoted author on earth, the New York Times calls him arguably the most important intellectual alive - yet most people have no idea who he is or what he's about.

Chomsky is known for his work in two distinct areas - Linguistics and gadflying. (Gadfly, the word applied to Socrates comes closest to the constant social irritant that Chomsky has become.)
