Over the past decade, Cognitive Linguistics has grown to be one of the most broadly appealing and dynamic frameworks for the study of natural language. Essentially, this new school of linguistics focuses on the meaning side of language: linguistic form is analysed as an expression of meaning. And meaning itself is not something that exists in isolation, but it is integrated with the full spectrum of human experience: the fact that we are embodied beings just as much as the fact that we are cultural beings.
This book has exceeded even my highly set expectations after reading reviews from my predecessors. The entire poker spectrum is dealt with creatively and with skillful flair. Your pace of reading is never obstructed by incomprehensible sentences or theories. It reads like watching a good movie: there is no way to stop reading, unless you doze off after several hours, and you remain constantly fascinated wanting more. Notice however that if you're looking for advanced poker theories, this would not be the right choice for you. Any other player, from beginner to somewhat experienced, will gain a lot from this excellent reference guide. Bottomline: A must-have before plunging into the vast virtual library of poker literature.

Working towards greater access and inclusion in education and employment for young people with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) continues to be a challenge with varying degrees of success. Matthew Hesmondhalgh outlines the inherent problems with improving services for people on the autism spectrum, from specialised schooling to supported living schemes and examines the social issues and attitudes that people with ASDs confront in so many aspects of life. The author draws on his own experience of working at The Integrated Resource, which offers educational opportunities for secondary school aged pupils with ASDs and provides a charity funded supported employment programme for young adults with ASDs.
