Signposts to Spelling

This book is intended for teachers—in class, in remedial sessions, and teaching English to foreigners—so that they may give their pupils the kind of insight into the English language that will help them to improve their spelling. It is designed to give quick and easy reference to the infor­mation. As the need for any spelling guide arises in the course of teach­ing, it can be found and explained to the pupil without delay. On some pages there are mnemonics and nonsense dictations as examples of what can be given to reinforce a particular guide.
