Although abundance of material is available in the form of biographies and writings of scientists, very little information is found on what made these scientists not only great discoverers but humane too, blessed with humour, humility and humanism like us, the lesser known mortals. Science is in a continuous state of progression and those involved in this unique adventure bring out the modes and methods of their investigation.

Earth and MarsR.K. Murthi’s Earth and Mars is a delightful fusion of fact and fiction. Based on the American space probes that had two Rover space craft landing on Mars, this science fiction novel deals with the theme of the so-called twin planets of Earth and Mars and the relationship between them.
Real life incidents, characters, including George Bush and Kofi Annan and several scientists have been incorporated into the story that has witty dialogues, not forgetting the “oh-so dreadful-puns”.
The title of astrophysicist Livio's latest wide-ranging science survey is a teaser since God rarely makes an appearance; along with the French astronomer Laplace, Livio has no need of that hypothesis. Rather, Livio (The Golden Ratio) is concerned with the contentious question: is mathematics a human invention? Or is it the intricate design of the universe that we are slowly discovering? Scientists in past centuries have argued for the latter, Platonist position. In the last 50 years scientists, calling into question the whole idea of scientific discovery, maintain that we have invented mathematics.
Approaching its topic with humor, style, and a critical eye, this unique guidebook enables parents to provide a healthy and diverse diet for their children. Instead of providing yet another guide to kids’ nutrition, a medical discussion, a treatise on the perils of obesity, or a parenting primer on good table manners, this study demonstrates that children need to be taught how to eat well just as they are taught to walk. This handbook details how to find the right foods, how to overcome recurring problems, and emphasize the healthiest elements.
Tomorrows Chemistry Today: Concepts in Nanoscience, Organic Materials and Environmental Chemistry
Providing a glimpse into the future, the young scientists contributing here were considered to be the most important for tomorrow's chemistry and materials science. They present the state of the art in their particular fields of research, with topics ranging from new synthetic pathways and nanotechnology to green chemistry. Of major interest to organic chemists, materials scientists and biochemists.
