Renowned professor George O’Brien of Georgetown University provides the biographical background of these authors and an in-depth analysis of their greatest works. George O’Brien is a professor of English. His main scholarly and teaching areas are Irish literature since 1800 and creative writing. Among his numerous publications are three volumes of memoirs and two books on contemporary Irish playwright Brian Friel.
