Entry 2 Skills for Life ESOL Student Workbook is the second level
in a series of five for new arrivals in the UK wishing to study
English. (Note: do not be confused by the illogical naming of the
level by the DfES!)
It is an adult course that takes students from beginner/starter level to point equivalent to a GCSE in English.
The course is designed to help new arrivals in the UK learn
communicative English as quickly as possible. I focusses on real life
scenarios for those living in the UK. It thus contains a lot of
material and subjects not normally covered in general English
coursebooks.
It is written and produced by the UK Department of Education and Skills (DfES).
It is common practice to teach nuclear physics and particle physics together in an introductory course and it is for such a course that this book has been written. The material is presented so that different selections can be made for a short course of about 25–30 lectures depending on the lecturer’s preferences and the students’ backgrounds. On the latter, students should have taken a first course in quantum physics, covering the traditional topics in non-relativistic quantum mechanics and atomic physics.
Phonetics is a notoriously technical discipline, and most books on the subject will make the beginner's head spin. Ladefoged's "A Course in Phonetics" is not one of those books. It is an introductory book to phoneticsand it's easy to read and it does not overload the reader with lots of technical terms.
Combines systematic training in exam techniques and thorough development of advanced level language skills. It can be used as comprehensive training and preparation for the CAE exam or as a challenging non-exam course for general advanced students.

Both coordinate and invariant approaches are used, but invariant approach is preferred. This book is written as a textbook for the course of multidimensional geometry and linear algebra. At Mathematical Department of Bashkir State University this course is taught to the first year students in the Spring semester. It is a part of the basic mathematical education. Therefore, this course is taught at Physical and Mathematical Departments in all Universities of Russia.
