What pieces of a distant past drift before our mind's eye when ancient Mesopotamia is mentioned?

Any of these, of course, may come to mind. Perhaps all of them. All cultures lie in the shadow of Mesopotamia.

These are happy hunting days for lovers of dinosaur paraphernalia. The variety of fossil fish and mammals should convince the skeptical that dinosaurs had no monopoly on bizarre structure.
