Winesburg, Ohio is a 1919 short story cycle by the American author Sherwood Anderson. The work covers George's life from the time he was a child to his growing independence and ultimate abandoning of Winesburg as a young man; the style of the work progresses as the complexity of his life increases.
In this third book about the indomitable and imaginative apprentice magician and her friends, magic, determination, loyalty, and hard work help them save the kingdom of Meldrith.
This sequel to Wren to the Rescue (1990) finds plucky Wren and Princess Teressa pursued by another sorcerous villain, with the magic of Wren, Prince Connor, and apprentice Mage Tyron barely adequate to overcome their new enemy, Hawk. Meanwhile, Wren learns the identity of her parents; Connor discovers his heritage as a wild, intuitive magician; and Tyron (like Wren in the earlier book) spends time as a dog.

The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud
by Ben Sherwood
Not even death can keep two brothers from meeting to play ball: it sounds like a sentimental TV movie, doesn't it? Actually, Sherwood's second novel (after The Man Who Ate the 747) is warmhearted but not maudlin, exploring the bonds between the living and the dead and the lengths to which we'll go for love.
