This 96-page resource book provides a collection of ready-made skills-based lessons with a functional focus, suitable for secondary school students in the first one to three years of English. The lessons are fun and motivating.
The Developing Tactics for Listening Test Booklet is designed for unit-by-unit evaluation of students' mastery of the Student Book. (Midterm and final tests are available separately in Expanding Tactics for Listening Teacher's Book.) The tests may be given in a language laboratory or in a regular classroom with a CD player, and they are easily administered to large or small groups of students. Teachers may use the tests to assign grades or to identify areas where students need additional assistance. This test package includes photocopiable student test sheets, an answer key, and a tapescript of the tests. A CD on the inside back cover of the Test Booklet contains the recordings needed to administer the tests. The test items are based on the listening activities presented in the Student Book. To assess students' speaking ability, teachers may use the interviews, role plays, and other speaking activities in the Over to You sections of the Student Book.

This is one of the best TOEFL
or TOEIC books I have seen, and the best I have used definitely. There
are 30 lessons, and most can be done in 1 hour, or up to 2 if you have
a lot of discussion or slow students. It can even be used for advanced
students as a brush up and conversation/listening book. The CD's are
good and it contains exercises and explanations for listening, reading,
identifying photos, etc.
One of the issues of the series "Real American". "REAL American" - a series of training programs for the American conversational English. "REAL American" is aimed at developing speaking, improved understanding of the language listening and learning interpretation. In this issue "Real American / Frankly Speaking" presents topics related to many different aspects of life in the United States: family, friends, identity, nature, pets, sports, traditions, holidays and weekdays, music, hobbies, etc.
