In grades 7–9, spelling words illustrate the “Four Spelling Rules to Master” at the front of the book, and commonly misspelled words are also studied.

Your child will use the Spelling Connections program. Each week, children will learn basic spelling principles that are important factors for future reading achievement: awareness that sounds make up words, recognition of spelling patterns in rhyming words, and letter-sound associations.
