This is a practical reference book for learners and teachers of English as a second or foreign language. Its main purpose is to provide intermediate and advanced learners with easy access to the information they need in order to correct their errors, both in system grammar and in word grammar. Special features include comprehensive coverage of all the major errors, an alphabetical arrangement combined with extensive cross-referencing for easy access, and a method of presentation that provides opportunities for active learning.
Each entry shows a common error side by side with its correction, followed by a clear simple explanation. This enables learners to identify the error, see and understand the corrected form and, as a result, improve both their spoken and written English.
The naturalization process is complex. You cannot be a citizenship counselor for the learners, but you can help them get the information they need. You can also help them through the process, including getting them more comfortable about and ready for the interview and the test. • Prepare the learners for the process, not just the test. The process includes filling out the form, greeting the INS officer, swearing in (raise your right hand, sit down, don't sit down), answering questions about the form including answering questions about eligibility, and answering the civics and history questions. Sophisticated English grammar is not necessary for the interview or the exam, but the vocabulary is very sophisticated.
This book is desiged for children at primary stage (6-12 years).
