Newsademic is an easy-to-understand international newspaper, written and edited in a style that assists English Language teaching and learning. Newsademic is a fortnightly publication (20 articles) and associated website. Both British and American English versions of the newspaper are available. The easy-to-read newspaper features the top world news stories that have made headlines during the previous two weeks.

The American Scholar is the venerable but lively quarterly magazine of public affairs, literature, science, history, and culture published by the Phi Beta Kappa Society since 1932. In recent years the magazine has won four National Magazine Awards, the industry's highest honor, and many of its essays and articles have been selected for the yearly Best American anthologies.

Literature and journalism have been intimate companions in American letters for three centuries. This collection of essays, the first of its kind, will explore the variety of ways that the two fields have intersected in the lives and works of American writers. Here, leading scholars examine poetry in Civil War-era newspapers, truth and falsehood in the age of yellow journalism, and the value of newspapers as a source for literary scholarship, as well as the specific experiences and contributions of Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Ernest Hemingway, Stephen Colbert, and other American authors and journalists.

Known for his influential role in the debates that established the founding documents of the United States, Benjamin Franklin was not only an astute politician, but also an Atlantic citizen whose commitment to the American cause was informed by years spent in England and France. The life of this iconic founder provides an ideal opportunity for students to take a closer look at eighteenth century colonial society and the contested formation of the early American nation.

This book consists of seven stand-alone accounts of individuals who operated as spies during the American Revolutionary War. They were not trained as covert agents, which meant they had to develop their skills and techniques on their own, often while in the midst of the enemy where discovery meant almost certain death for them, and suffering and hardship for their family and friends. Five of them spied for the American cause and two spied for the British. Not all were motivated by patriotism, and not all escaped capture, yet their often painfully gained experience benefited future operatives and operations.
