U.S. Constitution in 15 Minutes a Day (Junior Skill Builders)Making sense of the language and meaning of the United States Constitution doesn’t have to take a long time - and it doesn’t have to be difficult! In just 15 minutes a day, students can learn all of the history concepts related to the Constitution, which are often tested in school and on standardized exams.
Each lesson covers a key historical time period, from information about the document’s authors to each Amendment, in detail. Also included are interesting facts and quotes, which help students retain the information, and practice questions in every lesson to help track progress.

The Genius of Language - Observations for Teachers: Six LecturesThe Genius of Language - Observations for Teachers: Six Lectures

During the first year of the first Waldorf school, Rudolf Steiner agreed to give a science course to the teachers, which was to be on the nature of light. At the last minute, he was asked to give an additional course on language, which he improvised. "The Genius of Language" is the result.
Steiner demonstrates how history and psychology together form the different languages and how ideas, images, and vocabulary travel through time within various cultural streams. He describes how the power to form language has declined, but that we can still recover the seed of language, the penetration of sound by meaning.

Literacy in Everyday Life - Reading and Writing in Early Modern Dutch DiariesLiteracy in Everyday Life - Reading and Writing in Early Modern Dutch Diaries

Until recently, historians of reading have concentrated on book ownership and trying to map out a history of who read what. The reading experience has been a subject more difficult to research. As has been pointed out before, egodocuments can be valuable sources in this case. Following this lead, Literacy in Everyday Life focuses upon four early modern Dutch diaries in which readers document their daily life and in which they recount their reading. In the analysis, other ways in which these four readers communicated are also addressed, especially speech and writing.

Junior ComprehensionJunior Comprehension

Junior comprehension 1 is the first of the 3-book series JUNIOR COMPREHENSION. these books are very good for using in class and at home with kids of 9 -- 12 years of age. Texts are of different types: stories, simple scientific texts, poems, & etc. Tasks are not difficult but very stimulating, especially in the area of critical thinking, which is very important to develop as early as possible, from my point view. Kids are supposed to know basic verb tenses and vocabulary which are usually taught in primary school.
