Language Teaching Research is a fully peer reviewed scholarly journal.
It supports and develops investigation and research within the area of second or foreign language teaching. Research of both a quantitative and qualitative (including ethnographic) orientation is of interest to the journal, which as a matter of policy publishes work related to the teaching of any second language, not just English.
A wide range of topics in the area of language teaching is covered.
This first issue of ELT Journal sure meets your curiosity of its origin: - At the beginning, what was its name? Is it the same today's name? - Its appearance - Who were the first authors of the first articles>
(Note: the cover is just illustrative, not original!)
ELT Journal is a quarterly publication for all those involved in the field of teaching English as a second or foreign language. It seeks to bridge the gap between the everyday practical concerns of ELT professionals and related disciplines such as education, linguistics, psychology, and sociology that may offer significant insights.
