Early Childhood Education and Care: Policy and Practice
Currently, the majority of textbooks for early childhood education in the UK focus on the situation in England. As a result, readers may have a skewed perspective on policy and practice, and not be aware of the varying and different contexts in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Also, those working in settings not in England have to work hard to apply texts to their own contexts. This book gives the reader easy access to information on the policies and practices in ECEC across each of the countries in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
This book devotes itself to the herringbone stitch and gives you a history of the stitch from it's Ndebele roots. As with all stitches, the variations are covered and are explained using hand drawn pictures. Colour photos show a variety of finished projects and a gallery of completed beadwork gives you some ideas of what can be created. There are four projects, with clear step by step instructions, which cover all the techniques taught in the book. The Herringbone stitch is the hardest of the beadweaving stitches to learn but this is because it isn't as straight forward as the others!
Eddie's lost his teddy in the woods somewhere! But the teddy bear he finds, although identical in appearance to his own, is the wrong size, which leads to a hilarious encounter between the boy and a real bear. This oversize picture book gives children just a little fright before a reassuring ending.
Bridging the gap between heavy theory and heavy practice, Organization Development provides an emphasis on performance and results in addition to an overview of tools, techniques, and processes. Covering basic steps such as marketing, start-up, planning, and evaluation, the book includes a comprehensive discussion of implementation from the individual level to the global. The book gives consultants, managers, and students of the field a holistic perspective into the full range of values that organization development has to offer.
