This work book is for second-year medical students to improve their reading skills as well as writng and listening ones. The topics are chosen to meet the contents of their medical subjects. The philosophy of Albert Schweitzer has proved widely influential in modern thinking, especially in the field of ethics. His leading ethical idea can be summarized in the phrase "reverence for life" - namely, that good consists in maintaining and perfecting life, and evil consists in destroying and obstructing life. For Schweitzer, all life is sacred. Ethics thus deals with human attitudes and behavior toward all living beings.
The book provides systematic development of students´ listening and speaking skills. It also offers excellent preparation for the revised FCE exam for December 2008 or any other examinations at the same level.
Part A consists of ten complete listening tests. The recordings are based on authentic listening material and make use of various accents and sound effects.
Part B consists of ten speaking tests and covers a wide variety of topics such as holidays, entertainment, etc. Each Speaking Test is preceded by a Preparing for the Speaking Test section.
