Speaking Activities for the Classroom

The materials in this text were compiled over a period of ten years, in Thailand from 1993 to 2003, while I was teaching at The Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University and later at the Department of Language at KMUTT. I started a file of speaking activities because there were too many tasks and ideas to keep in my head, and I wanted to be able to access them when I needed them in the future. Eventually, the file grew thicker and thicker, until it was big enough to become a book.

Mission IELTS 1 Training Supplement aims to help students achieve their potential for success in the IELTS General Training Module. This book can be used either as a stand alone short course of the specific General Training Reading and Writing papers or as part of a comprehensive course of preparation for the whole test in conjunction with the Listening and Speaking units of Mission IELTS 1 Academic.

В книге собраны устные темы, предусмотренные школь­ной программой для учащихся начальных классов. На каж­дом развороте  два небольших текста на одну и ту же тему — на английском и русском языках.  Предложены вопросы для устных ответов и  короткий дополнительный текст для перевода на английский. В конце книги даны переводы этих текстов.
