Brain Tease II

Brain Tease II was developed to help you have fun while exercising your brain. This application helps you improve your focus and concentration skills and is appropriate for all ages. In Version II, the "Very Hard" difficulty level was added.

Displayed above you see that the player has chosen the "Very Hard" difficulty level. A game is underway and there are 77 seconds remaining in this game. At the top on the left are three random numbers (15, 11 and 4). The top left field has been filled with the number 26 (the sum of 15 plus 11) and the top right field has been filled with the number 7 (11 minus 4). (Be careful - these signs can be plus or minus.) The answer (3.71) should be entered into the bottom field. With the difficulty level set for "Very Hard" the last operation is always a division. The answer should be entered in decimal format rounded to two decimals (e.g., x.xx). When the "Enter" button is pressed, the bottom field will be compared with the correct answer. If correct, ten points will be added to the score (each correct "Very Hard" difficulty level answer is worth ten points, each correct "Hard" answer is worth five points, each correct "Medium" answer is worth three points and each correct "Easy" answer is worth one point). If an answer is incorrect, no points will be added to the score. As soon as the "Enter" button is pressed a new set of random numbers will be displayed for the next problem. When the Countdown reaches zero, this game's points will be compared to the High Scores in the right-hand table. If the points fall within the top ten scores, the name, level of difficulty and score will be added to the table.

With the difficulty set to easier levels, the last operation is always a plus and the answer is always an integer.

Sound is supported. You can turn sound on/off from the menu bar. High scores and settings for sound and difficulty level are saved between sessions.

If you can get the answer without entering the subtotals (26 and 7 in the above case), tab to the bottom field and enter the answer. This will save you time and you may be able to achieve higher scores.
