On the surface, the story seems simple. A King guides a motley crew of Grey Wardens through the treacherous Deep Roads to help them find a missing Grey Warden. But what it is, is so much more. It is about loss and regret, it is about trust and friendships. It is about how far a person will go to do the right thing, and how far a person will go to correct his or her mistakes. It leaves you with a feeling of uncomfortable uncertainty about the nature of evil and of good. And if you are a dog lover, it has a scene that will leave you misty eyed if not a complete emotional wreck.

Misconceptions of Risk

The risk discipline is young and there are a number of ideas, perspectives and conceptions of risk out there. A number of such common conceptions of risk are examined in the book, related to the risk concept, risk assessments, uncertainty analyses, risk perception, the precautionary principle, risk management and decision making under uncertainty. The Author discusses these concepts, their strengths and weaknesses, and concludes that they are often better judged as misconceptions of risk than conceptions of risk.

This book illustrates the central problems managers face and provides the economic analysis needed to guide their decisions. Updated with modern management techniques, the book includes many revised applications and coverage of game theory, decision making under uncertainty, international topics, e-commerce, and the Internet.

The quality is not very good but still readable.
