Energy in Action - Nuclear Energy (VIDEO)

In Nuclear Energy, kids will discover the incredible power stored inside the tiny atom! The key concept is that huge amounts of energy can be released when the forces that hold the nucleus of an atom together are disturbed. That can happen through fission, the splitting of an atom's nucleus or fusion, the combining of protons and neutrons from two different atoms. Pioneering scientists Lise Meitner and Marie Curie are introduced, and students learn how their research led to a greater understanding of the atom.

There has been a nuclear war. People not killed by bombs are now being killed by nuclear radiation, which will remain in the world for many years. The story is set in Melbourne, Australia. People are still alive there because the radiation has not yet reached the city. It is mostly in the north. But it is slowly coming south.

The Release of Thermonuclear Energy by Inertial Confinement: Ways Towards Ignition

This is a comprehensive book which describes the three essential parts of what is known as 'Inertial Confinement Fusion': the way thermonuclear burn takes place in non-magnetized, magnetized and fusion-fission hybrid assemblies; the pulse power ignition technology (nuclear, electrical, optical and chemical); and, the applications of inertial confinement fusion technology for peaceful nuclear energy on Earth and in space. An integrated single text of such extensive technical width is a rare find, and younger generations of nuclear engineers any physicists will appreciate this book...
