Ends and Means by Aldous HuxleyThis book presents the author's conception of a philosophy of life that he feels will alone save mankind from the evils of war, poverty, and the lust of power. This philosophy is centered in the attainment of the ideal of the non-attached man: "Non-attached to his bodily sensations and lusts. Non-attached to his craving for power and possessions. Non-attached to the objects of these various desires. Non-attached to his anger and hatred; non-attached to his exclusive loves. Non-attached to wealth, fame, and social position."
