Encyclopedia of Psychology of Decision MakingEncyclopedia of Psychology of Decision Making

In recent years there has been a great amount of research on the study of the neural mechanisms of economic decisions, a scientific field currently known as Neuroeconomics (Camerer, 2003). This has been promoted by the development and use of imaging techniques, particularly functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), for the exploration of brain activity. Neuroeconomics is an interdisciplinary field, as is decision making, in which the efforts of psychologists and economists join up with those of the neuroscientists, resulting in the participation of research specialists of different scientific fields in a given research.

Theory and Applications of CT Imaging and AnalysisTheory and Applications of CT Imaging and Analysis

The x-ray computed tomography (CT) is well known as a useful imaging method and thus CT images have continuingly been used for many applications, especially in medical fields. This book discloses recent advances and new ideas in theories and applications for CT imaging and its analysis. The 16 chapters selected in this book cover not only the major topics of CT imaging and analysis in medical fields, but also some advanced applications for forensic and industrial purposes. These chapters propose state-of-the-art approaches and cutting-edge research results.

Maxillofacial ImagingMaxillofacial Imaging

Maxillofacial imaging has evolved dramatically over the past two decades with development of new cross-sectional imaging techniques. Traditional maxillofacial imaging was based on plain films and dental imaging. However, today’s advanced imaging techniques with CT and MRI have only been partially implemented for maxillofacial questions. This book bridges the gap between traditional maxillofacial imaging and advanced medical imaging. We have applied CT and MRI to a variety of maxillofacial cases and these are illustrated with high-quality images and multiple planes.

Windows to the Brain: Insights From NeuroimagingWindows to the Brain: Insights From Neuroimaging

Windows to the Brain is the only book to synthesize neuroanatomical and imaging research as it pertains to selected neuropsychiatric diseases, containing all of the Windows to the Brain papers published from 1999-2006 in the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. They provide a basic understanding of how to apply a variety of imaging techniques to the study of adult neuropsychiatric disease and how to use neuroimaging to assist in diagnostic work-ups for conditions ranging from sleep disorders to epilepsy to borderline personality.
