This is the text for a two-semester multivariable calculus course. The setting is n-dimensional Euclidean space, with the material on differentiation culminating in the Inverse Function Theorem and its consequences, and the material on integration culminating in the Generalized Fundamental Theorem of Integral Calculus (often called Stokes's Theorem) and some of its consequences in turn. The prerequisite is a proof-based course in one-variable calculus.
James and Carmona Hardwick are spending the summer playing host to numerous friends and relatives in an old Hardwick family residence by the sea. The arrival of Alan Field, a devastatingly handsome though shady figure from Carmona's past, destroys the holiday atmosphere in the old house and replaces it with a mounting tension, culminating in murder. Fortunately, Miss Silver is present to unravel the complex mystery and seek out the murderer amongst them.
Filled with insights into Hill's personal history, his epic battles with Schumacher and Villeneuve, his dismissal by Williams and surprise decision to join TWR Arrows for 1997, culminating in a moving description of his crowning glory at the Japanese GP.
