Ms. Hocking's writing is really starting to come into its own. Maintaining all her original style and personality that fans have come to appreciate and love, this novel shows that she is more than capable of stepping things up and elevating her writing to a whole new level. While still incredibly entertaining and fun to read, the quality of writing in Ascend will surely appeal to a broader audience. Ascend is the best of the three books in this series, and is another book by Amanda Hocking that you just won't be able to put down.

From page one the reader is drawn into the life of Parris McKay as she goes in search of the mother she had been told was dead for 30 years. The story slowly and surely allows the reader to see and feel how and why the deception took place. The story is so well-told that at times.

Now that there is a book in which he appears as the principal author, I'll make the sensible prediction that this two-part magnum opus will make history. It will be consulted as an essential reference for years to come, and will surely join the ranks of distinguished books such as Montague's celebrated Formal Philosophy.
This latest entry in the estimable Nero Wolfe audio canon is a veritable time machine, transporting listeners back not only to the upscale New York City of the 1950s, but also to an era when wit and literacy flourished in the mystery genre.
