Baby Sitters Club 29 - Mallory and the Mystery Diary
While helping Stacey unpack from her move back to Stoneybrook, Mallory finds an old trunk in the McGills' attic. Inside there's a diary belonging to a 12-year-old girl who lived in Stacey's house in the 1890s.
Mary Anne feels she and Logan have been spending too much time together. They fight over silly things and Mary Anne never has any time to herself. Finally, she sadly realizes what she must do: break up with Logan. The Baby-sitters are shocked!
When Mrs. Lowell, the Baby-sitters Club's newest client, shows a dislike for Claudia and refuses to hire her as a sitter, Kristy, Mary Anne, Stacey, Dawn, Mallory, and Jessica decide to find out why.
Jessi Ramsey is at her regular ballet lessons in Stamford, when Madame Noelle announces that The Stamford Ballet School will be giving a free six week dance call to some of Stamford's less privileged children. Jessi voluteers to help out, and is surprised when only one other girl in her class volunteers, Mary Bramstedt. Because Jessi is the youngest person in her ballet class, along with being the only black member, sometimes she feels left out, and sees this as an opportunity to get to know some of her classmates. However, she immediately begins to sense something off about Mary, and Mary's obsession with dieting.
It's a Baby-sitters Club shocker--Dawn's moving back to California for six months to live with her dad. When Dawn announces that she is moving back to California, the other babysitters cannot believe their ears. Dawn loves Stoneybrook, her stepfamily, the kids she babysits and her special friends in the Babysitters Club, but she misses her other life in California. She has made the decision to move back there for six months, but what will everyone do without her?
