Travelling To Infinity - My Life With StephenTravelling To Infinity - My Life With Stephen

Complete with exclusive photographs of the couple, this moving and engaging memoir written by Stephen Hawking's first wife covers the turbulent years of her marriage with the astrophysics genius, her traumatic divorce, and their recent reconciliation.

As Stephen's academic renown soared, his body was collapsing under the assaults of motor neurone disease. Jane's candid account of trying to balance his 24-hour care with the needs of their growing family reveals the inner-strength of the author.

A book about optimism, love, and change that will resonate with readers everywhere.

Mozart's Brain and the Fighter Pilot: Unleashing Your Brain's Potential"Most of us would like to be smarter," asserts Restak (The Brain, companion to PBS's series by the same name), neuropsychiatrist and clinical professor of neurology at George Washington University Medical Center. Restak claims that improving cognition is the answer. In accessible science-teacher style, Restak delineates the brain's attributes, from its weight (three pounds) to the number of nerve cells (100 billion) and its infinity of synapses, explaining what aids communication, informs memory and so forth.

The Active Side of InfinityThe Active Side of Infinity

What can be said about the book? A must read for anyone familiar with Castaneda. Brilliant if not confusing. Take notice of many inconsistancies with his previous works. Written just before the end of his life or the beginning of his "Definitive Journey". Of course the question is still unanswered... is this stuff for real? The answer is moot. To the average person the stories related to us by Carlos were a big tease, we can never hope to aspire to the warriors way by ourselves.

Infinity and the Mind - The Science and Philosophy of the InfiniteInfinity and the Mind - The Science and Philosophy of the Infinite

In Infinity and the Mind, Rudy Rucker leads an excursion to that stretch of the universe he calls the "Mindscape," where he explores infinity in all its forms: potential and actual, mathematical and physical, theological and mundane. Rucker acquaints us with G?del's rotating universe, in which it is theoretically possible to travel into the past, and explains an interpretation of quantum mechanics in which billions of parallel worlds are produced every microsecond. It is in the realm of infinity, he maintains, that mathematics, science, and logic merge with the fantastic.
