Jill lived in a cottage with her stepmother, Nasty Nell.

It's about how Worm tries to build a tower, but Frog and Turtle and Rat always knock it down.

Then Worm uses glue.

The first story is "Worm is Hot".

It's about how Worm is hot and what happens when he tries to cool down by getting a fan, then another, then another, and then ANOTHER fan.

The second story is "Just Right".

It's about what Worm says when he sees Frog's big feet, Turtle's green shell, Rat's long tail - and then he sees Worm!

This is the story of a small town in the north west of England during the 1840s and of kindness and friendliness between neighbours, but most of all, it is about the ladies of Cranford.
