New Dictionary Of The History Of Ideas

New Dictionary Of The History Of IdeasWhat are the origins of the concepts under which we organize societies, create institutions and think about our lives? Where did the concept of God or equal rights or democracy come from? How does one idea influence another? Such questions fuel debates, speeches, papers and assignments in history classes, school speaking competitions, ethics classes and more.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time The title The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (or the curious incident of the dog in the night-time as it appears within the book) is an appropriate one for Mark Haddon's ingenious novel both because of its reference to that most obsessive and fact-obsessed of detectives, Sherlock Holmes, and because its lower-case letters indicate something important about its narrator.

Christopher is an intelligent youth who lives in the functional hinterland of autism--every day is an investigation for him because of all the aspects of human life that he does not quite get.

The Success Principles How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to BeThe Success Principles How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be
If there’s anyone qualified to write a self-help book on success, it’s Jack Canfield, who’s worked his way from scraping by as a teacher to holding a Guinness world record for having seven books simultaneously on The New York Times® Best Sellers list.

As a coauthor of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series, he’s sold more than 80 million books, and now lives “in a beautiful California estate” with his days of dining on spaghetti and tomato paste long behind him. “All you have to do is decide what it is you want, believe you deserve it, and practice the principles in this book,” he says, and success is yours.

His advice is straightforward ...

That chapter was done before the 12 part serie the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.
The publisher liked it so much that he put it on a shelf and asked Don Rosa to do
the 12 part serie. As soon as the serie was all done and published, he released it
in North America (Europe had it one year earlier).
Oh, in case you didn't notice, Don Rosa always add a D.U.C.K somewhere on his covers
and on the 1st pic of page one of a story. It is like a where is charlie game :}
Some are very easy to find, some are real hard. D.U.C.K. stands for Dedicated to
Uncle Carl from Keno (the artist real name is Keno Don Rosa) and we all know that
Carl is Carl Barks, the creator of Uncle $crooge
This issue D.U.C.K is half a duck :}
