Laws of successLaws of success
Over the years, Wilshire Book Company has had thousands of requests from enthusiastic readers of Think and Grow Rich for Napoleon Hill's original eight-book series, The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons. After many years of intensive and extensive research, we found a set of the books in mint condition. We are excited to finally be republishing this original, unabridged, classic edition of the world famous series, reproduced just as it first appeared in 1928 and compiled into a convenient two-volume set.

General Relativity and Gravitation. Vol.1-2General Relativity and Gravitation. Vol.1-2
by A. Held (ed.)
These volumes offer a number of articles dealing with quantization and general relativity. Within this field there are several approaches. The oldest of these uses the canonical approach to relativity, a topic to which a large portion of Volume 1 is devoted. In addition to the article on quantization, other problems that are discussed using this formalism are the Cauchy problem, the positive mass conjecture, and the Hamiltonian structure of space-time. The necessary background is covered in an extensive review article.
Volume 1 also contains several articles expounding the gauge theory and the supergravity outlook.
The more exotic approach through the use of twistors is described in Volume 2.

Sidelights on Relativity - Albert Einstein
1) Sidelights on Relativity
2) Relativity--The Special and General Theory

by Albert Einstein

Two influential essays: Ether and Relativity (1920) discusses properties demanded of the ether of space by the theory of relativity; Geometry and Experience (1921) describes the limits within which the Euclidean or any other practical geometric system can be held to be approximately true in connection with the concept of a finite universe.

Henryk Sienkiewicz - In Desert and WildernessIn Desert and Wilderness
by Henryk Sienkiewicz
translated from the Polish by Max Anthony Drezmal
(Rare Book Collection)

The renowned Polish novelist, inspired by his travels through Africa, gives us a fascinating book recounting adventures and experiences of two children during an escape from Khartoum after the death of General Gordon, and their flight through Africa to the Indian Ocean. The children’s adventures in the Egyptian desert and African wilderness at the time of the Mahdi (1848 - 1885) also contain a vast quantity of information about the plant and animal life of the African swamps and jungle.
Although written around a hundred years ago, this book covers "current" issues such as radical
Islam, terrorist kidnappings, war in the middle east, and genocide in Sudan.

Boleslaw Prus - The Pharaoh and the PriestThe Pharaoh and the Priest
a historical novel of ancient Egypt
by Boleslaw Prus
translated from the Polish by Jeremiah Curtin
(Rare Book Collection)

This is an incomplete 1902 translation of Prus' classic historical novel, "Pharaoh." (It is missing the author's stunning Epilog, which was restored only later from the original manuscript.)
The translator, Jeremiah Curtin, demonstrates an abysmally poor understanding of the original
text's Polish language, and an equally poor grasp of English style. His primitive knowledge of the book's subject matter and his inept, wooden, inaccurate translation--it contains some real howlers--help explain the novel's limited appreciation, until recently, among English-language readers.
