This book contains an adapted text of the famous novel "North and South" (1855) by the English writer Elizabeth Gaskell (1810-1865). A fascinating story of true love is shown against the background of the confrontation between the North and South of England in the late nineteenth century. The events take place in the northern city of Milton, where the Hale family is moving from southern Helston. Successful industrialist John Thornton becomes a student of Mr. Hale, who, having renounced the priesthood, works as a teacher.
