Supplementary Skills series covers Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing at four levels— elementary, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced. The materials are intended for adult learners, and are task-based and interactive with an emphasis on fluency. They can be used as a supplement to a course book or as modular course material.

This book is intended to develop composition skills. These include producing and developing ideas, choosing and using the most effective forms of expression and checking and improving drafts. Model texts are introduced after the students have tried to do a piece of writing so that the model becomes a resource against which students can compare their own texts and from which they can improve what they have written.
