Business Roles 2 is a sec

ond photocopiable resource book
containing twelve simulations for students of Business
English. Like Business Roles, it provides groups of students
with stimulating material for discussion. The aim is to get
students of intermediate level and above communicating
in English and solving problems together.
In each simulation, a situation is described and the
students are given a short, clear role in a fictional
company. They then work together to come to a
decision about the best course of action to take.
Disagreement is built into the roles, and lively
discussion will probably ensue. Each simulation
comprises four stages:

1. The Introduction is a preparatory task which presents
the vocabulary and theme of the Situation. It is
optional, but very useful, and should only be left out
if the teacher is short of time.

2. The Situation consists of the basic problem to be
discussed and resolved.

3. The Roles provide each student with an opinion and
arguments to use during the discussion.

4. The Follow-up stage draws attention to students'
communication skills and language use during the
discussion. This is also optional. Notes for its use are
in the General notes for teachers.

The General notes for teachers are provided at the
beginning of the book to make it clear to teachers how
they should go about using each stage. Each simulation
has its own Teacher's notes giving guidance, background
information and useful vocabulary. All the pages
intended for the learners {preparatory task, situation,
roles, evaluation sheet and language sheet) can be
photocopied.
