Children (and adults) the world around know and love the story of the little fawn who grows into a handsome stag.
FELIX SALTEN (1869-1945) was born in Budapest, Hungary, but moved to Vienna, Austria, when he was just four weeks old. He wrote Bambi in 1923. It was translated into English in 1928 and became a Book-of-the-Month Club success. Two years after Adolf Hitler banned Salten’s books in 1936, Salten moved to Zurich, Switzerland, where he lived for the rest of his life.
