Senses At The Seashore

PreSchool-Grade 2–Rotner has created a wonderful book with minimal text (Taste a fruity pop. See a kite flying high) and glorious, full-bleed color photographs that evoke the sights, the smells, the sounds, and the look of things at the beach. Children are shown eating watermelon, listening to a seashell, running along the shore at sunset, and so on. A fisherman and his catch are depicted, as are fluffy clouds and crashing waves, and the gritty sand. Children who have never been to the beach may not be as thrilled with this title as those who have, but the message regarding how we use our senses comes across effortlessly.
