- A mediumk-length authentic reading by such authors as Bruce Catton (civil war). Martin Luther King, Jr. (civil rights). Herman Wouk (World War II) and  Deboirah Tannen (language and gender).
- Communicative idiom development work.
- Extensive work with six scenes from the film.
- Questions for use before and after viewing the entire film.
- Follow-up activity suggestions.
- Suggestions for other films which may be of interest.
