House of Night Book 2: Betrayed
House of Night Book 2: Betrayed by P.C. & Kristin Cast Zoey has managed to settle in at the House of Night and come to terms with the vast powers the Goddess Nyx has given her. Just as she finally feels she belongs, the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed, and all evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves.

When Night Falls in Tinga Tinga TalesWhen the sun sets in Tinga Tinga Tales it's bedtime for some animals – Monkeys curl up their tails in the trees and Hippo and Tickbird say good night. But Owl and her nighttime friends all come out to play in the light of the moon! Children are going to come to love these African stories, inspired by rich indigenous artwork.
How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? How does a dinosaur say good night when Papa comes in to turn off the light? Does a dinosaur slam his tail and pout? Does he throw his teddy bear all about? Does a dinosaur stomp his feet on the floor and shout: 'I want to hear one book more!'? DOES A DINOSAUR ROAR?" Most certainly not. Dinosaurs give their mommies and daddies big hugs and kisses, tuck their tales in, and whisper "Good night!"
Filling each spread, Dyer's (illustrator of the Piggins books and of Baby Bear's Bedtime Book ) commanding yet gentle, large-scale watercolors are the key to the appeal of this bedtime lullaby. Fox ( Possum Magic ; Guess What? ) offers sweet but slim verse that bids good night to a selection of animals being cuddled and coddled by their mothers, all endearingly rendered at eye-level.
PreSchool-Bright colors and cartoon critters invite preschoolers to enjoy this book of sounds. Twenty creatures, both feathered and furry, are on their way to raid the fruits and vegetables in the farmer's pickup. Each page features two animals at a time as they hurry to the feast. The farmer comes to shoo them away, but only after they've eaten their fill. They scatter and talk about what a great day it's been as they settle down for the night. The first line of the large-print text on each page is the sound each beast makes, and the second line rhymes with the first. The watercolor illustrations on white backgrounds are full of action and personality.
