English for Mechanical Engineering in Higher Education Studies (SB+TB+audio)English for Mechanical Engineering in Higher Education Studies (SB+TB+audio)

English for Mechanical Engineering is a skills-based course designed specifically for students of mechanical engineering who are about to enter English-medium tertiary level studies. It provides carefully graded practice and progressions in the key academic skills that all students need, such as listening to lectures and speaking in seminars. It also equips students with the specialist mechanical engineering language they need to participate successfully within a mechanical engineering faculty. Extensive listening exercises come from mechanical engineering lectures, and all reading texts are taken from the same field of study.

The 15 Puzzle: How it Drove the World CrazyThe 15 Puzzle: How it Drove the World Crazy

This book contains the definitive, illustrated history of one of the most popular and important mechanical puzzles of all time. It can be argued that the Fifteen Puzzle in 1880 had the greatest impact on American and European society during of any mechanical puzzle the world has ever known.
Books by famous mathematicians tell that a deaf mute invented the 15 puzzle, but encyclopedias, other books and web sites say it was invented by Sam Loyd who Martin Gardner called "America’s greatest puzzle designer".

Energy in Action - Mechanical Energy (VIDEO)

In Mechanical Energy, students learn how energy can be transferred from one object to another to make something move -- like wind blowing on a sail. Discover that mechanical energy can exist in two states: moving, or kinetic energy, and stored, or potential energy. A roller coaster is just one vivid example of how mechanical energy is constantly changing form -- from potential to kinetic -- and back again. Kids also discover that sound is mechanical energy, a concept that is explained visually through a fun demonstration. Simple machines are introduced as ways to use mechanical energy to make work easier.
