English File is a flexible course for adults and young adults which reflects the realities of both learning and teaching. At each of the first two levels, there is a fast-track core of 60 hours' class work, with additional material which can extend the course to more than 120 hours.
Happy Earth is a two-level course bridging the gap between primary and lower secondary courses. Designed for upper primary, it takes into account real progress in reading and writing in the early primary years. Intended to be the core text for the introductory news writing and reporting course which may be titled Introduction to News Reporting and Writing, News and Feature Writing, Newswriting, or Journalistic Reporting and Writing. Students often take this course as the initial news reporting/writing requirement in a school of Journalism or Mass Communications department.
