Good read for those of you out there that enjoy superhero stories. Its especially hard now-a-days to make a hero that can stand out when it seems that there has already been someone that has done it before whether it be super strength or mind reading. The author did a great job making the protagonist a extremely dynamic character that can face the bad guys down with a plethora of powers from his toolbox and come at it from various angles that may not be considered otherwise. Refreshing read overall.
Herman Hesse's 1922 Bildungsroman parallels the life of Buddha and seems to argue that lessons cannot be taught but come from one's own struggle to find truth. Siddhartha is that most unusual of all stories - one that follows a character throughout most of his life . . . and describes that life in terms of a spiritual journey.
The book starts of by telling us about a monster who once came to Castle Rock - he was not a vampire, werewolf or ghoul but a cop named Frank Dodd with mental and sexual problems. This is in relation to the character in a previous King novel, The Dead Zone . Dodd killed himself after being discovered by the extra sensory perception of John Smith.
