Exploring a series of high-profile debates from 2,000 years before Christianity to 1,000 years after, this volume provides a format that invites readers to draw their own conclusions. The Ark of the Covenant...The monoliths of Easter Island...The origins of the Celtic Church...The Toltecs and Mayans...The time period from 2,000 years before Christianity to the millennium gave rise to many mysteries that have intrigued historians for ages.

Fluency and Accuracy: Toward Balance in Language Teaching and LearningFluency and Accuracy: Toward Balance in Language Teaching and Learning

This book suggests solutions to the problem of inaccuracy that results from emphasizing fluency. RaneyRaney

Raney is a small-town Baptist. Charles is a liberal from Atlanta. And RANEY is the story of their marriage. Charming, wise, funny, and truthful, it is a novel for everyone to love.

The two must make many accommodations to one an other and regularly consult a marriage counselor. PW found that the author's "ear for idiom is exact, the two central characters perceptibly developed and the other members of the small cast are given dimension and personality."

Between the AssassinationsBetween the Assassinations

Welcome to Kittur, India. It's on India's southwestern coast, bounded by the Arabian Sea to the west and the Kaliamma River to the south and east. It's blessed with rich soil and scenic beauty, and it's been around for centuries. Of its 193,432 residents, only 89 declare themselves to be without religion or caste. And if the characters in Between the Assassinations are any indication, Kittur is an extraordinary crossroads of the brightest minds and the poorest morals, the up-and-coming and the downtrodden, and the poets and the prophets of an India that modern literature has rarely addressed.
