Thesis / Dissertation - When Students Negotiate: an action research case study of a year 8 English class in a Catholic secondary collegeThis action research study examines the learning experiences of Year 8 students and their teacher as they negotiate aspects of their English classes. The study takes place in a regional Catholic co-educational secondary college in Victoria, Australia. The question of understanding the lived experience of ourselves and other is fundamental to this study, which is situated within an holistic, enactivist view of the world. From this perspective learning is a shared activity in which students participate in creating their own interpretation as they interact with others to bring forth understanding.

Thesis/Dissertation - Text and Contextual Conditioning in Spoken English (A genre-based approach) Volume 1 & 2Except for the correction of a few typographical errors, this version of my thesis submitted for the degree of Doctor of  Philosophy on 31 March, 1988 is materially identical to the copies deposited with the  Faculty of Arts and the Department of Linguistics at the University of Sydney. However, in order to make this web version more readable on a screen, some of the fonts have been changed, as well as other small changes made to the appearance of some tables and figures. These changes have resulted in changes to the pagination of the original thesis.

Multiple Sclerosis Dictionary
15

Multiple Sclerosis DictionaryDictionary of Multiple Sclerosis includes over 600 fully referenced terms and definitions from clinical neurology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, pathology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, radiology, and clinical trial methodology. This is not a textbook but rather a desktop resource that provides convenient definitions to each term, supported by key references. With an ever-increasing amount of information available from a wide variety of sources, often presented in jargon that can be convoluted, confusing, and difficult to understand, this book is a welcome addition to the literature. It is an invaluable reference tool for clinicians and paraclinical personnel, as well as those personally affected by MS.

Transurethral Resection, Fifth EditionTransurethral Resection, Fifth Edition
Transurethral resection (TUR) is today the 'gold standard' against which new methods must be compared in the treatment of BPH and other bladder malignancies. Covering the entire subject of transurethral resection, this fourth edition now includes chapters on the use of lasers as well as the medical-legal aspects associated with TUR. Blandy and Notley, with the help of John Reynard for this new edition, are recognized and respected authorities in the field, and have provided detailed descriptions of all the key processes involved in TUR, as well as the instruments and methods used and the basic skills that must be mastered. Filled with practical hints that support or refute popularly held views, Blandy, Notley and Reynard present rationales based on their own experiences, and describe every stage of each process in jargon-free text, illustrated with photographs and diagrams drawn by the senior author himself. A well-established work that presents valuable information in simple, straightforward terms, this is an essential text for all urologists, whether in training or in practice.
