The contributions in this volume, a sequel to the volume published in 1986 (SiHoLS 34), treat many aspects of the history of the language sciences in Spain and in Iberoamerica, from the Renaissance and ‘Siglo de Oro’ to the 20th century. Most papers were published in the journal Historiographia Linguistica; they were complemented with a few invited papers.
