Al Capone Shines My Shoes
Grade 6–8 Moose and the cons are about to get a lot closer in this much-anticipated sequel. It’s 1935. Moose Flanagan lives on Alcatraz with his family, the other families of the guards, and a few hundred no-name hit men, con men, mad dog murderers and a handful of bank robbers too. And one of those cons has just done him a big favor.

A Nest for Celeste
Celeste is not your average mouse. She lives alone, quietly weaving baskets with creative flair under the floor boards of the Oakley Plantation. However, Celeste’s world turns upside down with the arrival of the great naturalist John James Audubon and his assistant Joseph, who have come to study and paint the birds of the Louisiana bayou. Their arrival coincides with Celeste’s sudden displacement from her home below to a guest room upstairs.

Sleepovers
Amy, Bella, Chloe, Daisy and Emily are friends at school and have their own Alphabet Club -- look at their initials! Daisy is the newest member and is desperate to fit in, even though Chloe is sometimes unfriendly towards her. Throughout the school year, the girls plan ever more elaborate sleepovers. Daisy is dreading the time when her turn comes as she doesn’t know what her friends will make of sleeping over at her home, with her rather special older sister. The story is both a superb handling of both the complexities of young, female friendship, and the joys and problems of having a sister with learning disabilities.
