The biggest surprise is that this book, aside from having the fairy tale thing going on, and a charming romance, also has a really good ghost story. The character of Remy will tug at your heart and I think it was this part of the story that was the most effective. I have read other books by this author and felt that this was by far her best effort. I probably won't recommend it to younger teens, but older ones should really enjoy it.

Being a zombie, not so easy. Think On My Words: Exploring Shakespeare's Language David Crystal, a well-known British popularizer of language and linguistics, looks at the variegated elements of Shakespeare's words, from spelling and punctuation, to pronunciation and meter, from Shakespeare's coinages (not as many as we think), to his influences. You don't need to know anything about linguistics to understand this book; Crystal explains all the technical terms and concepts briefly and sufficiently, but if you do know about language, the book may interest you more.
