1. Constructed Languages - Making It All Up Artificially made languages, called "constructed languages", or conlangs, are a large part of the language world, having their own purposes. They also sometimes bring out strong emotions in people.

2. Language Conflicts: Flemish vs. Walloon When two languages fight for dominance in the same country, the outcome is usually either violence or separation. For now, Belgium is managing to avoid those, but just barely.
